  • Neuropsychological Evaluation

    What is a neuropsychological evaluation?

    An assessment involving pencil-paper, tablet, and puzzle type activities to assess an individual’s pattern of brain functioning across cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and adaptive domains.

    The goals are to provide diagnostic clarification, inform treatment and/or education planning, and give specific recommendations across all settings.

    What is the Dr. Eisenlohr’s neuropsychological evaluation process?

    Prior to Evaluation:

    Phone call to clarify goals of evaluation and goodness of fit.

    Completion of a background questionnaire.

    Evaluation Day:

    One full day of testing (approximately 8 hours) including an hour lunch break.

    Preliminary feedback and initial recommendations the same day of the assessment.

    Complete feedback appointment 1 week following testing via telehealth or in person.

    Complete written report of relevant background, results, and recommendations within approximately 72 hours of feedback.

    Why does Dr. Eisenlohr complete all testing in one day?

    Dr. Eisenlohr’s experience in the fast paced and demanding hospital setting built an expertise in test knowledge, relationship building, test selection, and a fundamental belief in the ethics of not requiring unnecessary tests.

    Additionally, seeing the individual over the course of time helps understand the waxing and waning of skills and attention in order to provide more specific and generalizable recommendations (e.g., some children have better or worse attention after lunch which may impact recommendations).

  • Concussion/mTBI Evaluation & RECOVERY

    *** Go to the nearest emergency department IMMEDIATELY if you experience any of the following symptoms in the FIRST 24 HOURS post-injury: seizure, major change in speech (e.g., slurring), loss of consciousness, vomiting, major change (loss) of functioning, notable facial drooping or loss of physical ability

    Dr. Eisenlohr treats and evaluates individuals (ages 2 - adulthood/geriatric) who have experienced a concussion or traumatic brain injury. She supports the recovery process with the goal of returning individuals to functioning and performing across all domains of their lives as efficiently as possible.

    What is a concussion evaluation?

    An interview and assessment that will examine current concussion related symptoms to clarify diagnoses, determine where one is in the concussion recovery process, and to inform rehabilitation and recovery programming.

    What is the concussion evaluation process?

    Prior to Evaluation:

    Completion of background questionnaire.

    Evaluation Day:

    One day of interview and testing (approximately 3 hours) with breaks, lighting adjustment as necessary.

    Feedback and development of initial rehabilitation plan the same day of the assessment.

    Complete written report within 48 hours of appointment. Report will have expanded rehabilitation plan with tailored recommendations and steps for the individuals and their specific goals.

    Follow-up phone call check-in one week after appointment to determine progress and next steps.

    Dr. Eisenlohr regularly collaborates with the individual, family, school, coaches, trainers, and teams on further individualizing return-to-play and return-to-learn plans.

  • Independent Medical evaluations (IME)

    What is the purpose of an Independent Medical Evaluations (IME)?

    Dr. Eisenlohr conducts IME’s as a neutral third party to assess whether an individual is eligible for compensation.

    What is the purpose of an Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE)?

    Dr. Eisenlohr provides third party neuropsychological evaluations and psycoeducational evaluations as part of the process in establishing a child’s individual learning style and needs.

    Dr. Eisenlohr works with elite athletes (e.g., high school, collegiate, Olympic, professional) and competitive teams to maximize performance through tailored interventions specific to athlete and team needs and goals. In this age of enhancing biomechanics, Dr. Eisenlohr enhances neuromechanics to optimize performance within the context of life stress, high expectations, and challenging decision making.

    Dr. Eisenlohr works directly with athletes, coaches, and teams, as well as a consultant to coaches, athletic trainers, and athletic directors.
